Shipping & Lead Times

How long will it take to make my order?

Your jewels are made to order, and can take 1-4 weeks before shipping. If you would like your jewellery for a particular date, please get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are shipped via Royal Mail, options include First Class Signed For and Special Delivery. Please note that lead times do not include shipping time. We cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen items.

How is my order packaged?

Your handmade jewellery will be packaged in an FSC certified box with vegan wax seal, or a pouch. Both are eco-friendly and do not contain tarnish accelerating chemicals. The thank you postcards that are included in your order can be recycled. We are currently working towards making the shipping packaging as eco friendly as possible!

Do you ship worldwide?

We currently only ship to the UK, subscribe to our mailing list or follow us on our social media to keep in the loop of when we ship internationally.

Jewellery Care & Materials

How do I clean my jewellery?

Silver and gold jewellery gently tarnishes over time due to the alloys within the metal, but can be easily polished to make it shiny again:

  • Use a polishing cloth to gently buff your jewels
  • Use warm, soapy water and a soft toothbrush to gently clean jewellery, dry and wipe with a cloth
  • For jewellery containing stones, it is best to just use a polishing cloth as gemstones can be fragile, or absorb water and crack

Which materials do Heavy Metal Dreamer use?

We use recycled gold and silver, and sometimes brass and copper for detailing. Materials for handmade jewellery pieces are stated on each product description. Our sterling silver is nickel free.

How should jewellery be stored?

When not being worn, keep your pieces in a sealed container, away from moisture. Your Heavy Metal Dreamer boxes and pouches do not contain tarnish accelerating chemicals, so they can be stored there to keep them shinier for longer! (They're also super handy for travelling).

Why does jewellery turn my finger green/black?

Sterling silver reacts with skin chemistry and humidity, therefore medication, sweat, climates, cleaning products, perfumes and moisturisers can accelerate tarnishing. For some, sterling silver can leave green tinges on the skin - give your jewels a clean, and this should subside over time.

Please send an email to hello@heavymetaldreamer.co.uk if you have any more questions!
